Undefeated Teams Collide as Scotlandville Takes On Central High

Kickoff is Friday at 7pm

The Scotlandville Hornets come into Friday’s game with a perfect 4-0 record. Max Preps rates them as the #14 ranked team in Louisiana and Louisiana Sports Writers Association ranks them #9 in Louisiana Class 5A.

The Hornets opened the season with a close 13-9 victory over Shreveport’s Captain Shreve. They followed that up with three beatdowns in a row – St. Helena College and Career Academy (57-0), 1A Southern Lab (50-13), and 5A foe Walker (54-15).

So far on the season, the Hornets have outscored their last three opponents 161-28 and by an average of 45 points per game.

The Central High Wildcats boast a similar perfect 4-0 record, but Max Preps only ranks them as the #51 team in the state. The Wildcats opened the season with three straight non-district victories over Class 4A Belaire (59-6), Class 1A Southern Lab (47-7) and Class 4A Plaquemine (21-12).

Last week, they defeated 5A district competitor Denham Springs (30-22). The Wildcats are looking for respect and a win over Scotlandville would certainly propel them up the Louisiana and Class 5A ranks.

Central won this matchup last year 30-27 and it should be another close game Friday night on the new turf at Wildcat Stadium.
