Valentine’s Day came early for Devin White’s mom in the form of a sweet ride.
The former LSU football standout, who is projected to be selected in the top 10 of the 2019 NFL Draft, shocked his mom with a new white Mercedes on Sunday.
So thankful for the sacrifices that you made for me, you always went without so I could have the nicest things, this is a appreciation gift, It do not amount to all the things you have done for me but you do deserve it, Enjoy and I love you with everything in me ♥️🙏🏾🤠 pic.twitter.com/rYouIO29Ch

“So thankful for the sacrifices that you made for me. You always went without so I could have the nicest things, this is an appreciation gift,” White said. “It does not amount to all the things you have done for me but you do deserve it. Enjoy and I love you with everything in me.”
What an awesome and heartfelt gesture by the linebacker. White immediately knew what he had in mind after selecting an agent and getting some marketing deals.
“The first thing I wanted to do, I wanted to get my mom a car,” White said to 104.5 ESPN according to The Advocate.
White, the first LSU linebacker to ever win the Butkus Award, is rated as the No. 4 prospect in the draft according to ESPN’s Mel Kiper.
In the 2018 NFL Draft, each player chosen in the top 10 earned a total contracted of at least $17 million and received signing bonuses of at least $11 million, according to Forbes.
During his three years at LSU, White’s mom traveled from their home in Cotton Valley to watch him play every game in her old car. Now it was his time to return the favor and he was ecstatic to do so.
“She always put herself last and always put us first and made sure we had the nicest things,” White said to The Advocate. “So, that’s why it was such a special moment, because of the type of person my mother is and how it was just so grateful for me to do something for her.”
