7 Louisiana Prep Stars Ready to Make Noise in the SEC

They're leaving Louisiana to make an impact in the SEC

It’s high school football playoff time in Louisiana and there’s plenty of seniors in action that will be leaving the state but playing in the SEC next season.

There’s seven senior prospects committed to SEC teams other than LSU in the 2018 LHSAA Prep Classic. The first round begins on Nov. 8 and the championships are from Dec. 6-8 from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome televised on CST.

Here are some of the top non-LSU SEC commits competing in the 2018 LHSAA Prep Classic. Rankings are per 247Sports.

Chester Kimbrough – Florida

The 5-foot-7, 167-pound prospect from New Orleans in ranked No. 17 in Louisiana, the No. 41 ranked cornerback in the nation and overall is ranked No. 376.

Makiya Tongue – Georgia

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound prospect from University Lab is ranked No. 12 in Louisiana, the No. 8 ranked ATH in the nation and overall is ranked No. 209.

Quinton Torbor – Mississippi State

The 6-foot-2, 182-pound prospect from Destrehan is ranked No. 22 in Louisiana, the No. 80 ranked wide receiver in the nation and overall is ranked No. 608.

Ishmael Burdine – Missouri

The 6-foot-1, 175-pound prospect from Slidell is ranked No. 19 in Louisiana, the No. 34 ranked safety in the nation and overall is ranked No. 393.

Caleb Etienne – Ole Miss

The 6-foot-6, 306-pound prospect from Warren Easton is ranked No. 28 in Louisiana, the No. 34 ranked offensive guard in the nation and overall is ranked No. 788.

Tyler Judson – Ole Miss

The 6-foot, 193-pound prospect from Zachary is ranked No. 35 in Louisiana, the No. 91 ranked safety in the nation and overall is ranked No. 1022.

Christian Harris – Texas A&M

The 6-foot-1 and a half, 239-pound prospect from University Lab is ranked No. 9 in Louisiana, the No. 9 ranked inside linebacker in the nation and overall is ranked No. 145.
