The Allstate Sugar Bowl LHSAA Prep Classic will conclude with Day 3 on Saturday, Dec. 8.
Here’s a breakdown of Day 3:
12:00 John Curtis vs Catholic
Day 3 begins with John Curtis meeting Catholic in the Division I Championship.
Of the nine title matchups this weekend, this is one of only two featuring the top two seeds. John Curtis owns a perfect 12-0 record while Catholic enters this weekend at 12-1. Catholic’s only loss came against University Lab, who will face St. Thomas More in the Division II Championship on Friday.
This is also a rematch of last season’s Division I title game. Catholic won, 20-14. While Catholic is aiming to repeat, John Curtis is searching for its first state championship since 2013.
3:30 Edna Karr vs Warren Easton
The other matchup featuring the top two seeds will be Edna Karr and Warren Easton in the Class 4A championship. This is also a rematch, as these two programs met in the Class 4A semifinals a year ago.
Edna Karr beat Warren Easton last year and went on to win the state championship and finish 15-1. Starting this year 14-0, Edna Karr has won 29 of its last 30 contests.
Warren Easton comes in at 12-2 and defeated No. 6-seeded Leesville, 54-14, in the semifinals.
7:00 West Monroe vs Zachary
This championship weekend wraps up with West Monroe facing Zachary in the Class 5A title bout.
Without a doubt, West Monroe is on the most impressive playoff run of any team in the state. On its way to the championship game, West Monroe has recorded four shutouts and averaged 39.5 points.
Zachary is on a great run as well as a No. 6 seed. They defeated two higher seeded teams in their last two games by an average of 11 points.
Players to Watch
CB Devin Bush – Edna Karr
As the No. 13 player in the state, the 6-foot tall and 190-pound cornerback will be the highest rated player from the 2019 recruiting class in any game Saturday. Based on the 247Sports composite rankings, he is the No. 2 cornerback from Louisiana in the class.
Bush reportedly received offers from top programs such as Clemson and Georgia, but he committed to Arkansas in November.

QB Lance LeGendre – Warren Easton
Although he can win with his legs too, LeGendre will be trying to beat Bush and the Edna Karr secondary in the Class 4A title game.
LeGendre is the 14th-highest rated prospect in Louisiana and the No. 5 rated dual-threat quarterback in the 2019 class.
CB Chester Kimbrough – Warren Easton
On the other side of the ball, Kimbrough will be aiming to outshine Bush in the same championship battle. Kimbrough is just behind Bush as the No. 3 cornerback and 16th overall player in the 2019 class from Louisiana.
The top Warren Easton cover man committed to Florida.

Some other players to keep an eye on from Warren Easton are guard Caleb Etienne, wide receiver Kiaeem Green and safety Jahmal Sam.
S Donald Clay – John Curtis
A 3-star prospect, Curtis is the third of four defensive backs on our players to watch list. He is the No. 3 safety from Louisiana in the 2019 class.
Clay committed to SMU in June.
S Tyler Judson – Zachary
The fourth and final defensive back to watch Saturday, Judson is right behind Clay as the fourth safety and No. 36 Louisiana player in the upcoming class.
Judson has received eight offers and is reportedly leaning towards committing to Ole Miss.
RB Ahmad Antoine – Edna Karr
Standing at 5-foot-9 and 175 pounds, Antoine is the No. 48 Louisiana player and 88th-best running back in the 2019 class. He shares the backfield with fellow senior Ronnie Jackson, who is the No. 60 Louisiana prospect in the class and committed to UTSA.

DT Dalvin Hutchinson – West Monroe
As good as West Monroe has been this season, one would expect to see a ton of the team’s players in the 247Sports rankings. But in the 2019 class, only Hutchinson has received serious interest from the college level.
He anchors the middle of the ridiculously stout West Monroe defense, as the No. 64 ranked Louisiana player in the upcoming class.
WR Chandler Whitfield – Zachary
As the No. 78 prospect from Louisiana in 2019, Whitfield committed to Nicholls State.
TE Brandon Hubicz – Catholic
Hubicz rounds out the players to watch Saturday, as the No. 85 overall Louisiana prospect in the 2019 class. He stands at 6-foot-3 and 231 pounds.
