NEW ORLEANS – Tulane Athletics joins the American Athletic Conference and other conference member schools in supporting the disaster relief efforts to support the rescue, recovery and rebuilding efforts in Houston and southeast Texas.

Green Wave fans, below are three ways to donate and volunteer via the American Red Cross. In addition, Tulane Athletics will provide the donation and volunteer information at our upcoming home events throughout this fall, beginning with Saturday’s football season opener vs. Grambling State.

Text-to-Give
Help people affected by Hurricane Harvey by visiting redcross.org, calling 1- 800-RED CROSS or texting the word HARVEY to 90999 to make a $10 donation. Donations enable the Red Cross to prepare for, respond to and help people recover from this disaster.

Staying Safe
People should download the free Red Cross Emergency App to have safety information available on your mobile device, including emergency weather alerts, safety information and open shelter locations. Red Cross apps are available in smartphone app stores by searching for the American Red Cross or going to redcross.org/apps.

More than 1 million hurricane and flood alerts were issued through Red Cross mobile apps from 5 p.m. Thursday to 5 p.m. Friday. The alerts provide people with real-time information so they can help protect themselves and their loved-ones
