On Tuesday, March 27th, the 15th-ranked LSU Tigers will face Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns in the annual Wally Pontiff Jr. Foundation Classic at the Shrine on Airline in Metairie, La. The yearly contest, which began in 2004, will begin at 7:00pm from the home of the New Orleans Baby Cakes.
Pontiff, who was categorized as “Everybody’s All-American” by former LSU head coach Skip Bertman, died in 2002 at the age of 21 due to a heart abnormality. The Metairie native prepped at Jesuit High School before becoming an all-SEC pick for the Tigers.
