First TV Broadcast in New McNeese Arena Set for CST

Adds to Southland TV schedule of nearly 200 games

FRISCO, Texas – The McNeese State University men’s basketball team played its first game at the new Health and Human Performance Education Complex on Nov. 16. Now the arena is set to host its initial televised matchup Dec. 18 when the University of Louisiana at Lafayette pays a visit. Cox Sports Television will broadcast the Cowboys vs. Ragin’ Cajuns affair to its regional audience. ESPN+ is set to simulcast to the rest of the country. Streaming coverage will be subject to blackout in Cox’s territory.

Tip-off is scheduled for shortly after 6:30 p.m. It has been 47 years since the Cowboys had an on-campus arena to call home. McNeese has played the last 32 years with Burton Coliseum as its home court, and before that, played its home games at the Lake Charles Civic Center from 1972-86.

The $40 million complex is home to the McNeese men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball programs and the Department of Health and Human Performance.

The basketball arena seats 4,200.
