The New Orleans Saints made some early moves on in the 2018 NFL Draft. In a trade with the Green Bay Packers, New Orleans moved up to the No. 14 pick to select defensive end Marcus Davenport from the University of Texas-San Antonio.

As a senior, Davenport was tabbed the 2017 Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year and first-team all-conference. He posted 55 tackles and set school records with 17.5 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks and eight quarterback hurries. He also finished his UTSA career as the program’s all-time leader in tackles for loss (38.0), sacks (22.0) and quarterback hurries (21). He is 6 feet 6 and 265 pounds.

The Saints received the No. 14 pick from the Green Bay Packers in exchange for the No. 27 pick, the No. 147 pick in the fifth round and a 2019 first-round selection.
