LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The LSU women’s basketball team extended its current win streak to five with a 56-37 victory over Little Rock at the Jack Stephens Center on Wednesday night.
LSU improved to 7-3 with the win, while the Trojans fell to 3-8.
Chloe Jackson led the Lady Tigers with a season-high tying 23 points. By halftime, the junior guard had scored 15 points, matching the Trojans’ intermission score, as LSU took a 23-15 lead into the locker room.
LSU started the game on a 7-0 run before Little Rock could get on the scoreboard and ended the first quarter with a 12-6 lead. Jackson hit two of her career-high three three-point baskets in the first quarter. The first long-distance basket capped the 7-0 start while the second gave the Lady Tigers a 12-4 lead late in the period.
LSU started to pull away in the third quarter. The period ended with a 9-0 run to build a 19-point lead, 39-20, with Jackson scoring her third basket from beyond the arc and an and-1during the run.
In the fourth quarter, Jaelyn Richard-Harris hit two free throws to give LSU its biggest lead of the game, 48-24.
Shanice Norton was the team’s second-leading scorer with a season-high 11 points and tied her career-high with five assists and three steals. Raigyne Louis added six points, two assists and two steals, ending her streak of consecutive double-digit scoring games at 25. Faustine Aifuwa led the squad with seven rebounds.
