The weekend is here and Southland baseball opens the festivities on Cox Sports Television tonight when the Northwestern State Demons head to Lake Charles to Face the McNeese Cowboys. The Demons are looking to stay in the race for a Southland Conference Tournament bid, while McNeese is looking to inch closer to the league’s top spot.

Saturday will be historic as CST broadcasts the Vermilion and White Spring Football Finale from Lafayette. First-year head coach Billy Napier is looking to get the Cajuns back into a bowl game and the spring game will give Napier a great chance to get the program on track. Napier, who is in Lafayette following a stint as Associate Head Coach at Arizona State, recently served under both Nick Saban at Alabama and Dabo Swinny at Clemson.

The remainder of the day will be filed with Minor League Baseball, as the New Orleans Baby Cakes host the Colorado Springs Sky Sox and the Birmingham Barons travel to take on the Pensacola Blue Wahoos.
